A best selling lip gloss? Are you using it.

I was a little curious about the Tropez Ultra Glaze Lip Gloss ($1.99, Walgreens) because they are always flying off the shelves. I figured if they're always gone must be a great little product.

I bought one of the tubes and it wasn't a bad product.

It goes on smooth and shiny (but not too shiny) and non-sticky. Also, no waxy smell or taste, but, it not likely to stay on long unless you apply a sealer.

I'm sure this is just my issue but I can feel it on. I don't like to feel make-up but it seems to not be an issue for all the other girls who buy it (it's probably just me).

Aside from that it's not bad nor is the price. I think I would buy it again.

Wish List Item 2: Perfect for the Girly Girl

Another Wish List item of mine was Aquolina Pink Sugar Eau de Toilette Natural Spray ($35.00 for 1.7 oz).
I smelled a sample of this and knew I had to have it. It's sweet without being too sweet and girly. I smell hints of cotton candy and other sugary delights.
I would leave this spray for daytime (you would want something sexier for night).
From the description:
Pink Sugar begins with sugary sweet notes of cotton candy, strawberry, raspberry and orange which fade to reveal sensual mid notes of lily of the valley, fig leaves, and barbe-a-papa. The scent finishes on rich, soft base notes of vanilla, amber, musk, and woods.
What I also like is how the scent pleasently lingers. If you have tried or have this product, please let us know what you think?

Wish List Item: Metal Boxes

After reading a Reader's Frugal Glam Product review, I decided to make a list of few items I might want.

My West Elm Rectangle Metal Box ($19.00, westelm.com) was a Wish List item that I got for Christmas. I wanted something to put my watches in because they were loose on the night stand.

It looks really beautiful next to the bed. It has a stainless steel finish with a smooth wood lining. I love when the sun reflects off it in the morning.

Classic Cardigan with a Twist

Happy Day after Christmas

After wearing this Behnaz Sarafpour Classic Ivory Lace Trim Sweater ($29.99, Target), I realized that this has become one of my new favorite sweaters.

I have worn it with a black strapless dress, t-shirt and jeans and with a thin high neckline shirt (turtle neck shirt) and pencil skirt.

It's a classic cotton cardigan with a twist of sophistication with the lace, that can be worn casual or formal. It's great for work, school or just lounging around the house.

If you can find it after the holiday, pick one up.

Q and A

I normally don't post on Saturday but I have two questions I received, that I wanted to answer:

Q: Don't you ever get tired of trying new products?

A: No, I absolutely love it. It's so much fun to try out different products. Maybe one day I will get to the point of product fatigue, but I hope I don't.

Q: I normally have clear skin but I get those "period pimples" what can you suggest that doesn't cost alot?

A: Luckly, I've have been blessed (thanks mom and dad) with clear skin (it's oily, but I rarely if ever get a pimple). But, when I do feel one starting to form, I like to use The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil ($7.50, The Body Shop stores). It's one of my tried and true beauty products. It's a small bottle, but you don't need to use a lot for it to work. It has a natural scent kind of woodsy smell, but the scent does not linger.

After, washing your face dab a little of this on the area, wait a few seconds then apply your facial moisturizer. I hope it works. There are other uses for this product but I just use it for the pimples.

In need of a hair revival

I have medium to long hair, which tends to become dry near the ends. Even though I use a conditioner for dry hair and a deep conditioner when needed. I still need to use a leave-in conditioner.

I like to try different leave-in conditioners to see how they work with my hair.

So I decided to try, Charles Worthington Results Moisture-Seal Hair Healer Intensive Leave-in Conditioner ($5.99, Walgreens stores).

This product works for dry, permed/relaxed and color treated hair.

It works really great for my hair, the leave-in conditioner is concentrated and contains KERAFLEX (hair strengthening) Complex™ which left my hair feeling stronger, softer and shinier.

I love this product, it's salon quality for drugstore price.

Calming Itchy Tags

I'm sure everyone has a shirt with a scratchy tag and you get so tired of it, you cut it off, then you can't remember how you are suppose to clean it.
Hollywood Fashion Tape has created another great product Hollywood Tag Tamers ($8.95, 24 in a box in two different sizes, hollywoodfashiontape.com).
It's a clear adhesive and hypo-allergenic and fabric friendly, which means will not irritant your skin or most clothes.
I received a sample and tried it on my favorite shirt (with the most irritating tag). I didn't feel a thing. The only thing I was worried about was taking off the Tag Tamer from my shirt. No worries needed because it didn't mess up my shirt.
However, this is very important information off the box, don't forget to REMOVE the Tag Tamer before: washing, dry cleaning or ironing garments. Also, PRETEST delicate fabrics.

Moisturizing Lipstick

I thought I would try a new color for Winter. So, while out buying necessities I decided to buy Cover Girl Incredifull Lipstick in Bold Bordeaux ($6.50, drugstores).

This is great for girls who want to increase their lips but unfortunately, I'm far from having to plump up my lips. So, I couldn't tell if it worked or not.

According to the package it works by:
Attracting moisture in the air to your lips, to help them look full and plump

What I did like about it? Is how the color goes on smoothly. It's creamy, moisturizing and with a little bit of shine.

Look Good while during something Good

As I have stated in previous posts, I love lip gloss.

Another favorite of mine is M.A.C. Tinted Lipglass VIVA GLAM V ($14.00, maccosmetics.com or wherever M.A.C. cosmetics are sold).

It's goes smooth and with a shiny finish. It's a perfect nude shade with just a hint of pink, but the real reason I love this lip gloss is all the proceeds go to the M.A.C Aids fund.

I feel like I'm doing my part everytime I apply this.

How to Shine at a party

Saturday, I went to a holiday cocktail party and wore a classic little black dress.

I carried my favorite Samantha clutch/hand bag from Nina Shoes ($59.95, ninashoes.com) that I got as a gift.

I received a lot of compliments and was asked "Where did you buy that?" throughout the night.

The only thing I would probably change is the logo lining. It's not a big deal, I'm just not big on logos. I love carrying it, I feel so retro chic.

Sophisticated Chocolate without the High Price

I love chocolate and I love Choxie Espresso Thin chocolate bar ($3.00, Target).
It's so decadent and delicious. It's a dark chocolate bar covered with crushed Arabica espresso beans. The second you taste it, you'll know how delectable the dark chocolate is mixed with the espresso beans.

This is one of my favorite from the Choxie line. I would highly recommend that you try it.

The description on the back of the box says:

Designed to arouse the senses. Open the box, ....and deeply inhale the bold, full-bodied espresso aroma. We use only crushed espresso beans...that pair perfectly with the complex, multi-layered flavor of the dark chocolate.

I don't think you will be disappointed.

Had it with Hard to Remove Stains, try this

I know that there's nothing glamorus about doing laundry but neither is walking around with stains on your clothes.

This Frugal Glam product review is from my cousin. She uses Cadie Stubborn Stain Remover Laundry Stick ($2.49, thekitchendrawer.com) on her clothes.

For some reason she seems to spill coffee on her favorite shirts (all the time) and uses this pre-treatment on the spots, but the great thing is after washing they're gone. This is great for removing other hard to remove stains such as chocolate, lipstick, ink, etc.

She said "This is suppose to be used ONLY on washable clothes NOT Dry Cleaned clothes." She also, said "You don't want to take the risk of ruining your dry clean only clothes with probably cost a lot more."

A Safe All Purpose Cleaner

I buy this Method Cucumber All Purpose Cleaner ($2.99, Target) because many of the all purpose cleaners out are so strong that they make me cough or I have to hold my breath just to use them.

It doesn't smell like the average cleaner, it has a fresh cucumber scent (reminds me of the Bath and Body Works Cucumber Mellow scent).

I like that it smells great but it really works, whether your using it from the kitchen to the bathroom.

Bonus: It's made from all natural ingredients and is biodegradable.

Great for Sensitive skin

This might be a little pricey for some but it's really worth it. I like to use Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream ($10.59 for 16 oz, drugstores) only during the winter because my skin is sensitive and sometimes need a little help.

I use this only on my body (I have oily facial skin) but it can be used for your face. I would still suggest doing a patch test first to make sure there is no irritation.

It's hypoallergenic, frangrance free and best of all will not leave your skin feeling greasy or sticky.

I would also suggest using just a little bit at a time because you don't need a lot for it to work unless you have really dry skin.

I would probably advise not using if you have oily facial skin because it is a little heavier than a normal facial cream.

Reader's Frugal Glam Product

G. is a sophomore at Boston University and to save money she buys a lot of her party clothes at Forever 21, Wet Seal, and Charlotte Russe.

She says "I can buy a lot of the trendy clothes without going into debt" and "I look as pretty as all the other girls except I'm not broke. "

As for beauty products G.'s favorite lip gloss is Cover Girl Wetslicks Lip Gloss in Fire Fly ($5.00, drugstores). "I like it because the color makes my lips look Hott!!"

A great gift for Nesters

My aunt is truly a nester and homebody so I decided to buy her this Liora Manne Red Lasso Rug from the Museum of Modern Art Store ($26.00 size: 30 L x 20 W, momastore.org) for a Christmas gift.

It's an indoor/outdoor rug, which is good because her apartment has a balcony/patio. I think it would look great in front of the entry door, in her kitchen, in the living room or in her bedroom.

I ordered it yesterday. I am really looking forward to giving this gift to her. I think she will really like it.

I hope you Enjoy your Weekend!!!!!

All Aboard for Style

I have been trying to find something cute and chic to put on my bookcase for awhile now.

So, while surfing around the web I found these Kate's Paperie Train Case Set ($35.oo includes 1 small and 1 large case, katespaperie.com).

It's a faux croc embossed leather in light blue tone. But what I love is the contrast of the satin chocolate brown lining with the light blue casing. Very beautiful with old hollywood chic.

Right now I have nothing in them, they are just on display in between the books.

Also, they can be a great little gift for your mom, friend or yourself.

Perfect for any gathering

Since the holidays are upon us that means a ton of party invites are also just around the corner.

While out and about roaming during the shopping season I found this cute Sequin Clutch at the Gap ($16.50).

I like it because it's very roomy and I can fit all my neccessities in it plus the heart shape zipper charm.

It adds just a little touch of charm to any outfit casual or formal.

A Recovery from dry and damaged hair

I'm a little skeptical sometimes when it comes to products and I want to try them to see if they will work.

That's why when I found Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask ($6.99, drugstores) I decided give a chance.

I decided to use more than the small amount than the directions recommended and left it on longer than recommended because my hair is very dry.

The results were worth it because my hair was really soft, moisturized and healthy. I like to use this once a month to revitalize my dry hair.

My only complaint is the jar is not big enough. I wish it was a 10 - 12 oz jar to get more product.

Luxury Blush for Less

Usually during the winter my skin looks a little washed out and bland, until I started using L'Oreal Cashmere Perfect Blush in Bronze Touch ($8.00, drugstores).

I just use a little bit to add a little color to my cheeks. It gives me a healthy glow without looking fake and overly dramatic.

This is a liquid to powder blush with staying power. I applied it during the day and it was still on without any fading by late afternoon.

A Way to Brighten and Organize the Year

I figure it's never too early to get organized and find a great deal.

I ordered this Pier 1 2007 My Week, Year & Life Calendar (Sale: $6.00, Regular: $8.00, pier1.com or stores) this week.

It has everything I need from writing my to do list to leaving a note.

I like the pink and floral background to brighten up the year, plus I have the option of hanging it off the wall, refrigerator (magnetic back) or just leaving it on my desk.
