Nick Free Legs with Veet Removal Lotion

To keep my legs sleek without any nicks I like to use Veet Rapid Action Hair Removal Lotion ($5.99, drugstores). It's fast and I don't have to worry about missing any areas during a quick shave. I just applied a good amount on my legs let it sit. They suggest using a wash cloth, I used one of the hair removal plastic blades from a previous removal cream.

The smell isn't too bad but since everyone smells things differently you will have to determine that out for yourself.

For those with sensitive skin I would truly advise during a patch test to make sure you don't get a bad reaction.

A Sneaker With a Cause

I finally got the pictures to upload. Well, these are the Converse (RED) sneakers I wanted to show you. The PR Manager for Foot Locker was nice enough to send me a pair.

I wore them, first to the movies and I got quite a few compliments and questions asking me where I got them. The Converse (RED) sneakers can be found at either Foot Locker or LadyFoot Locker ($46.99-$51.99). I also received more compliments while grocery shopping. Guess, it kind of makes you wonder how often people are staring at your feet.

I'm not sure if you can tell from the pictures but what's written on the shoes is (RED)ESIGNED and DESI(RED).

For those who may not know, project (RED) is trying to inform and raise money to help fight AIDS in Africa. The products that display the (RED) logo will contribute a significant percentage of their sales or a portion of the profits to the Global Fund to finance AIDS programs in Africa.

Since, I got my shoes for free, I will make a donation to the Global Fund so that I can do my part to help change the world.

Enjoy the Weekend!!!

Can it be Old Navy Swimwear for $6.99 Each

I was having a little difficulty with uploading the pictures of the Converse sneakers (I will try to have it ready for tomorrow).

Anyway, this weekend I'm going to be visiting a friend who lives near a beach (I for one need the vacation). I decided to update my swimwear at Old Navy (great sale). I bought the two purple swimsuits that are below (tops and bottoms sold separately each $6.99, regular price $16.50 each) all for less than $30.00 (with tax). I had to really search for my size because of the great prices there was a very small selection.

Don't be fooled by the pictures because the top for the first suit matches perfectly just doesn't look like it on the website. The bottom is pretty normal not to skimpy.

A Bed fit for a Dog

As one of my dogs start to get older, she needs something softer to lay on. I looked in Target, Meijer and pet stores but I couldn't find one that I liked. I end up surfing the web and found one I thought would have enough padding for her. I decided to order her the Caddis SuperSoft Max Dog Bed ($46 for large, precious-pets-paradise.com) in the print that's shown dog bone plaid.

What I like about this dog bed is the removable cover that you can easily toss in the washer if it gets dirty.

After it comes in the mail I will update this post. I think she will like it and hopefully will sleep as peaceful as the dog in the photo.

Updated My Hair Accessories For Less Than $20

I decided to update my basic hair accessories, well some are really not quite accessories more like tools.

I bought all the following from Target:

2 packs of bobby pins ($1 each)
2 pack of Goody ouchless ponytail holders ($1.99 each)
1 pack of three skinny headbands ($5.99)
1 medium wide patent black headband ($3.99)

It all cost a little less than $17.00 (with tax) and the good thing is I don't have to buy any more items for a while.

Upcoming posts:

Tomorrow: Something glam I got for my dogs
Thursday: Converse (RED) (absolutely love these)

A Lip Balm that Keeps your Lips Sugar Fresh

I received a cute little gift of Fresh Sugar Lip Balm ($22.00, amazon.com) from my friend who is a total product junkie. She knows that I am pretty much a lip balm addict and thought I might like to give this a try.

It goes on very smooth and has a really good scent and taste to it. It has a nice consistency light and creamy without feeling waxy.

Due to the high price I'm not sure I would purchase this as often as my other lip balms.

Sweet Smelling Body Wash

My latest obession is the Healing Garden Energy Therapy Body Wash in Apple and Acai ($6.59, Walgreens). This smells so good and it makes my skin feel soft. It lathers up pretty good and even though it contains moisturizer I still like to apply lotion afterwards. I like to keep my skin soft. I like to try new products to keep my morning routine a little fresh.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

My Nail Polish for the Summer

I just love the essie nail polishes, like so many because they have a lot of different and unique colors. Plus, they're not that expensive. I absolutely adore the first color (California Coral, $8.00) especially after nice pedicure. I mostly just wear it on toes.

I have always been a fan of pink nail polish. I mostly wear pink or a neutral shades on my fingers. Right now I'm wearing this pink shade (Whisper, $8.00) on both my fingers and toes.

I always try to keep my nails looking neat because one of my pet peeves is to see chipped nail polish especially at work.

My Summer Weekend Read: Girl In Development

I bought a new book to read this weekend, "Girl in Development" ($15.99 Hardcover or $7.99 Paperback) and I see myself relaxing and doing absolutely nothing.
Here is the book description:
Vintage-chic, East Coast transplant Samantha Rose would rather be reading Virginia Woolf than Variety. So when her uncle arranges a surprise summer internship at a hot film development company, Sam is not prepared for the Tinsel-town twist.
From her spoiled room mate (her Beverly Hills-bred cousin, Kate), to the backstabbing poseurs at her company (ironically named 'Authentic Pictures'), everything about L.A. feels fake. And, although smart, self-protective Sam hates to admit it, it's all a bit intimidating. Will Sam realize her own Hollywood ending? Not before this girl in development is thrust into the spotlight and down a personal red carpet of genuine friendship, romance and betrayal.
What are you reading for the Summer?

My Favorite Cuticle Oil

I believe I've been using Sally Hansen Cuticle Oil ($5.99, drugstores) since junior high school. I like to use this to keep my nails and cuticles moisturized. It absorbs quickly but just try not to use to much.
There are other cuticle oils out on the market but this is my favorite one yet.

Another Use for Clinique's Facial Moisturizing Lotion

Every now and then, I like to use Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion in a tube ($11.50 for 1.7 oz.) as a hand moisturizer. I know I'm suppose to use it for my face but I also like to use it for my hands it keeps them nice and soft. The good thing about this product is I only have to use just a little bit for my hands.

Reader's Frugal Glam Product: Conditioner for Dry Hair

Nicola from AZ likes to use PHYTO Phytosesame Express Hydrating Conditioner ($28.00, drugstore.com). She likes it because it's easy to use and it keeps her normally dry hair from getting drier from the hot temperatures. She doesn't mind paying the high price because this is only condition that she uses.

If you have Frugal Glam product you would like to share please e-mail me at: frugalglam@yahoo.com. Send me the product's name, price, where you can purchase it and why it works for you.

Stocking Up On Summer Shoes

The contest for the Nautica N-Series Jeans has ended. The winners will be announced this Friday.

These will probably be the last pair of shoes I will buy at least until fall. I ordered three pairs of T-Strap Sandals in black, gold and silver from Newport-News.com. They were on sale for $10.00 each. I orderd three pairs because it's a classic shoe at a great price.
I think I'm pretty set on summer shoes and don't think I'll be buying any more.

What I Use To Keep The Frizz Away

Sorry I've been kind of busy. Next week seems a little lighter and will write about more beauty products. My latest hair product is Tresemme's Anti-Frizz Secret Smoothing Cream ($3.99, drugstores). With the weather warming up my hair tends to frizz out.

I like to add a little to my hair before I blow dry or while my hair is dry to keep my hair smooth. I like the fact that I don't have to use a lot even (you might have to use more or less depending on your hair). I also like to brush a little in before I go work out so my hair doesn't frizz out to much.

It's also good to keep flyaways down.

What products do you use to fight frizz? Let us know.

Now I Can Wear My Heart On My Sleeve

After walking around the mall with my sister and cousin and finding absolutely nothing yesterday, until I stopped by Wet Seal and found this bangle. I was surprised it was on sale and with tax it was a little over $4.00 (regular price $6.00).

This is great for summer and the prices is even better. I could probably wear it during the winter with the right top. I like th subtle design on it which kind of give it a gladiator feel.

Comfortable Summer Dress from the Gap

Lately, all I seem to want to wear are cute little dresses. It's something so feminine and girlie. This Gap v-neck hoodie dress ($44.50, gap.com) is so comfortable to wear but I still look cute. I mainly just wear it with flip flops but you can wear it with heels too.
