Nail & Cuticle Therapy from Crabtree & Evelyn

Since, I save quite a bit of money doing my own manicure and pedicure which allows me to splurge every now and then on different products. I wanted to try Crabtree & Evelyn La Source Nail & Cuticle Therapy ($12.00, crabtree-evelyn.com) it contains panthenol and keratin to help prevent breakage. I like to use a little bit throughout the day and before I go to bed to keep my cuticles soft and moisturized.

I like this cream because it isn't greasy and dries relatively quick with out any residue leftover.

What I'm reading and using on my hair and nails

I didn't have time to post the other days. So, I thought I would just include three things in this one.

I always try to keep my nails healthy and right now I'm using Sally Hansen Instant Strength Calcium Gel Nail Fortifier ($4.99, drugstores). I like to use it during my weekly manicures to keep my nails strong.

I have naturally dry hair and sometimes I need to use a deep conditioner or special treatment. A professional hair stylist suggested I try Jingles Intensive Treatment
Reconstructor Revitalizer
($11.95 for 8oz, webbeautystore.com). I was a little reluctant because I don't always like to try new products on my hair but I thought I give it a try.

It's very rich and creamy. I left it on my hair for about 10 minutes before I rinsed it. My hair felt clean and with no waxy residue left behind. My hair felt soft and healthy. This is probably something I would use every once in a while because even though my hair is naturally dry it's quite healthy.

I normally read a couple of books at a time and right now I'm reading Emma by Jane Austen. I figure since Becoming Jane will be out Friday I thought I would reread one of the classic novels by Jane Austen. I love the book Emma because it follows the loveable busy body Emma thoughout her life and experiences. If you have some time I would reccommend reading this book. The book shown above is not the one I have, the one I have is an old hardcover edition that I couldn't find on-line to show you.

My Favorite Cuticle Oil

I believe I've been using Sally Hansen Cuticle Oil ($5.99, drugstores) since junior high school. I like to use this to keep my nails and cuticles moisturized. It absorbs quickly but just try not to use to much.
There are other cuticle oils out on the market but this is my favorite one yet.

Instant Manicure in a Bottle

I don't always have time to give myself a manicure or to get one. However, while walking through the make-up aisle in Walgreen I lucked apon Sally Hansen Natural Shine Instant Nail Finish ($5.99, drugstores).

It comes in two tints: clear and pink. I bought both to try at home. It's easy to use and dries quickly with a nice shine to it.

It's small which means you can tote it around in your bag.

This will not take the place of a manicure (at least for me), but it's great for when you want your nails to look great but don't have time for that full on manicure.

So long dry cuticles

I originally received this product as a gift, but now I purchase it for myself. OPI Avoplex Cuticle Treatment ($11, opi.com for stores) combines Alpha Hydroxy Acids and Salicylic Acid to remove dry cuticles.

If you love to give yourself manicures at home, well this product will be heaven scent. I don't always have time to get a professional manicure, nor do I always want to give someone else a lot of money for a basic manicure.

To me $11 is a pretty good deal for professional like results and in the end I have saved myself money.

Celebrity Frugal Glam Product:

Nicole Richie has stated that she uses Dove Beauty Bar ($1 drugstore) on her face, because "it makes my skin incredibly soft!"

Is there a Frugal Glam product that you use and would like to tell us about it? Please leave us a comment.
