Changing of Moisturizer for the Summer

During the summer I must change my facial moisturizer to something a little lighter. I use Dove Sensitive Essentials Facial Moisturizer ($6.99, drugstores). My skin is always perfect during the winter but the minute the weather starts to warm up my skin starts to shine. I have oily skin but rarely any pimples just shiny skin.

This gives my skin just the right amount of moisture without making it super shiny. I know dewy skin is perfect for summer but not greasy and super shiny. It feel like it's whipped and I just use a small amount to my face and neck.

My Favorite Shoe of the Moment

It's so hard to find a really great navy shoe. Plus I have always loved the d'Orsay style. So, this is the perfect shoe at least for me, these Nina satin d'Orsay heels for $79.95. I figure I can wear these with dresses or jeans.

I just love them (if you can love a shoe) .

An Affordable Party Top

I just love this top not because I got plenty of compliments because it fits perfectly.

It's a simple strapless top but it has this little something about it. Believe it or not I got it from Banana Republic for $58.00.

What I really like is the fact that I didn't have to keep track of whether it was sliding down or not. I don't know if it's the top or my body type.

Anyone else has this top? What do you think of it?

What Time is It?

When I saw this clock I knew It would be a perfect fit for my little small home office area. It's not too big but very readable. I like this clock which is a Simone wall clock ($16.95 sale, $26.95 reg, Crate & Barrel) because of the clean lines and it kind of has a little retro feel to it.

When it comes to buying things for my place I like to wait until I find something I really like. It's more affordable in the long run just take more time.

The Packaging Alone Sold Me

Lately the scent that I crave is pear. Which is why I love using this soap by Sapone Per Cucina Soap ($12.00, lafcony.com).
I could collect all the soaps for the packaging alone. This soap is luxurious with a clean and light pear scent.
I like finding different products and this is my latest find. I don't usually spend $12.00 on one bar of soap but I really like the smell and the way my skin feels afterwards.

Wallet Calculator: Chic and Practical

The Lexon Credit Card Calculator ($16.50, unicahome.com) is kind of a practical item but it's an essential (at least to me). I like to add up all my purchases before heading to the counter or calculate a tip for the waiter. I like to carry a calculator with me but sometimes I leave my calculator in my tote or at home. Which is why I like this one, because it fits right in my wallet and has a sleek design.

I know there are more affordable calculators but I just like the look of this one.

My Summer Accessories from Old Navy

I wanted to update my summer clothes but I realized I really don't need that many new clothes so I figure why not just buy some new accessories.

I stopped by Old Navy and bought a pair of flip-flops ($3.50), a red hobo bag ($16.50) and black and cream handbag ($19.50). My purchase total was a little over $40 (with tax) which is a great deal because you can buy one purse for that price.

My 200th Post: The Cutest Tote Bag Ever

This is my 200th posts. That's so cool.

Anyway, I find that there's nothing cuter than Hello Kitty. I have adored her since I was a little girl. Which I why this is my favorite tote bag ($25.00, hellokitty.com). I don't know if you can tell from the picture but Hello Kitty is sequined and so is her name on the opposite side. This bag is roomy and I can carry a good amount in it.

I feel I can still be a grown-up and hold on to a little bit of my childhood.

A Multi-tasking Blush

I love summer always have always will because it just makes everything and everyone seem so happy. I don't wear a lot of make especially during the summer but I did find this product, Pop Beauty: Pop Up Glow ($19.00, Sephora). It's a cream to powder formula that dries to looks natural.

It comes in three shades watermelon (pink), mocha (a bronze) and sunny (gold). I bought the watermelon to add a little color to my cheeks. I also like to use it as a eyeshadow.

According to the package you can use it on your eyes, lips and cheeks.

Frugal Glam Summer Beauty Tips

1. For make-up: Less is more. You don't need to wear a lot of make-up plus it's going to melt off when it's supper hot.

2. Wear sunscreen everyday, no matter how light or dark your skin tone is.

3. Drink water to stay hydrated. It's affordable and better for you than drinking pop.

4. Use a lip balm with a sunscreen. Being a lip balm addict, I like to use either: 1. Chap Stick Moisturizer lip balm with an SPF of 15 or 30 (blue tube, $1.99). 2. Banana Boat Aloe Vera with Vitamin E Sunscreen Lip Balm with SPF 30 (green tube, $1.79).

5. Wear Sunglasses. If you wear glasses see if you can get an attachment for your glasses or sun activated tinted lenses.

6. Eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables. It's more affordable to eat them in season.

7. A ponytail can be an easy and elegant hairstyle for summer either slick back or slightly messy.

8. Wear a hat to keep you hair protected from the sun.

A Make-up Kit for the Girl on the Go by mark.

Sorry for the late post, very busy today and I'm getting ready to go out of town for the weekend.

But, I wanted to mention this great little make-up kit I bought from mark. It's called the mark. Sun Kissed Color Kit ($22.00, meetmark.com). That's a great deal because you get five great products plus mints and a connector to connect the lip gloss and mints for a night out. And all of this for only $22.00, which is the price of some luxury nail polishes.

The kit included:

* mark Kissink Lip Tinitmarker in Red Siren (apply this under clear lip gloss for a nice shine)
* mark Glow Baby Glow Hook Up Lip Gloss in Player
* mark Scanda-Lash Hook Up Mascara in Brownout
* mark Just Pinched Instant Blush Tint in Nude
* mark I-Glimmer Illuminating Eye Color in Bronzed
* mark Tangerine Hook Up Mints
* mark Hool Up Connector

The good thing is I didn't really have to sort through my make-up, I just put this kit in a make-up bag and tossed it into my bag. All the color are subtle and just a hint of bronze. I think I'm good on buying make-up for a while.

Well, I have to get ready to go.

Enjoy the Weekend!!! Have Fun!!!!

Little Black Dress and Little Black Shoes

Yesterday I was really busy with researching and making phone calls. Like I promised I'm posting two items:

I have been looking for a fun little dress for a while and I found this Button Babydoll dress at Alloy ($39.50, alloy.com).

This dress was a little long on me (I'm short) so I took it to my cleaner and got it hemmed to make it a mini.

My other purchase were these pair of Two Lips "Mel" Sandals ($74.95, Nordstrom). I haven't worn them with this dress. I have worn only worn flip-flops or regular wedges.

Anyway, these shoes are black patent leather with a 4" lucite wedge heel. They are comfortable to wear.

I can justify spending this amount because I have already worn them three times. The first outfit was jeans and white button down, 2nd: black summer wrap dress and 3rd: jeans and black long sleeve t-shirt.

Plus they are in a classic style that I can wear them more than one season.

A Dream Notebook for Listmakers

I like making lists because I actually like crossing off things.

I found this little notebook by searching around the Internet. It's a To Do Pad by My Whomi ($15.00, mywhomi.com).

This is a dream notebook for list makers like myself. I write out what to buy, who to call and what to do all in one notebook but on seperate pages.

Have a great weekend!!!
