Mascara for Dramatic Lashes

As I have stated in previous posts, I have short eye lashes. Sometimes I like to buy L'Oreal Double Extend Mascara ($9.99, drugstores) because it really does make my eye lashes look longer.
I use to buy this product while in college. It was great for going out at night because it gave me nice flirty lashes.

Reader's Frugal Glam Product: Cat Bed

Rachel wanted something to keep her cat off of her bed, so she bought her the Kitty Snooze Den ($9.99, Target). She says "Mica sleeps in it instead of my bed" and "now I don't have as much fur on my bed".

That looks very cute and it even looks glamorus for the little cat.

If you have Frugal Glam product you would like to share please e-mail me at: frugalglam@yahoo.com. Send me the product name, price, where you can purchase it and why it works for you.

Mixed Reviews for Pantene Ice Shine

I decided to try Pantene Pro-V Ice Shine shampoo & conditioner ($3.99 each, drugstores) and I was very disappointed with the shampoo because my hair felt worse after I washed it. My hair is healthy, thick and naturally dry but not desert dry. My hair felt dried out.
The one thing I liked about the shampoo is it removes product build-up and that's what it should be marketed as instead of a shine shampoo. My hair felt a little to stripped of it's natural oils. I think it could be too harsh on hair that is dry and damaged.
However, I really thought the conditioner worked pretty well. I left it on for about 5 minutes to really let it soak in.
All in all I would Not re-purchase the shampoo again but maybe the conditioner.
Remember these are my opinions on products that I've tried maybe they worked for you and not for me or vice-versa. I just want to give my opinion and I would love to read yours.

LUSH Lip Balm

I orded the LUSH Honey Trap Lip Balm ($7.95, lush.com) because I wanted to try a new lip balm. A friend of mine swears it the best thing around. So, I decided to try it for myself. It has a very yummy taste but the real test is to see if it will keep my lips soft and moist.
I must say that is really does. This is probably the most I have ever spent on a lip balm but it really works. It has a natural scent to it and some may or may not like the smell.
If you use this product let us know what you think of it?

A Cute Top found at Abercrombie

I'm not a big Abercrombie & Fitch fan because most of the time their clothes are over priced versions of something found else where.

Anyway, I actually found something that I like and willing to spend money on. It's the Avery (empire waist cotton tube top) in dark pink for $29.50. It will go great with a pair of jeans and flip flops or heeled sandals. Also, with cute khakis.

The best thing are the pockets.

Now I just have to wait for Summer to wear it.

A Spring Gift for Mom

My mom collects teapots and I bought this really pretty Plum Blossom Teapot from Crate & Barrel for $29.95.
It's such a great gift for spring. The great thing is it is dishwasher and microwave safe. Not that I know anyone that would put a teapot in a microwave.
Are you buying someone a spring gift? Let us know.

Who knew Silk could be so Sexy?

While watching Charmed the other day I got inspired to update my sexy party tops. I ordered this Silk Keyhole Halter Top from bebe.com for $69.00.
I don't have as much time as I use to for going shopping especially for non-work clothes.
I think this shirt is going to look great for the summer. It's classy and sexy and not slutty or skanky.
It might cost more than I would normally spend on a evening shirt but gone are days of partying with frat boys and attending college parties. This halter top has a classic look to it and will last quite a few seasons.

Reader's Frugal Glam Product

I really had a great time at the ballet on Saturday. It was a girl's day, I went with my mom to see Swan Lake. The costumes were so beautiful and sets were constructed so life like and magical. I enjoy going to the theatre.

Anyway, I thought I would give a Reader's Product Review:

Cindy F. has curly hair and like to use Pantene Pro-V Hydrating Curls Shampoo and Conditioner ($3.99, drugstores). She says "it keeps my hair from drying out and becoming frizzy."

Totally Apple-licious Body Scrub

A body scrub I like to use from time to time is Freeman Totally Juicy Apple Hot Sugar Body Scrub ($3.79, drugstore.com).

It has an amazing scent and the self heating scrub warms up to clear away the dead skin cells.

Some people say that is doesn't heat up enough for them but you have to try it for yourself. For me I don't need it become really hot because that's what the shower or bath is for.

Note: Use on dry skin for full effect of the scrub.

Have a Happy St. Patrick's Day on Saturday!!!

Spring Cleaning my nail polish, out with the old....

Sunday night I tossed six almost empty bottles of nail polish. I wanted to try a new nude color, I bought Cover Girl Queen collection 3-in-1 nail color in Premier Pink ($2.79, drugstore).

It's a very soft pink almost light beige. I also bought another nail polish, L'Oreal Pro Manicure Nail Polish in Trust Fund Baby ($4.99, drugstores).

I haven't tried either one yet maybe this weekend I will try the Cover Girl, I'm going to the ballet.

An Essential Item for your closet

I'm updating my wardrobe and was looking for a few new pieces to add. I bought two pencil skirts (one black and the other gray) from Old Navy for $26.50 each.

Pencil skirts are such a classic staple to any woman's wardrobe. They are great for work or the weekend. For the weekend, you can put on a fitted polo shirt and flats for a casual look.

Another great thing about these skirts are they're machine washable.

Money Saving Tips

I thought these tips might be helpful:

^ If you never use up all of your beauty products such as shampoo, conditioner, fancy lotions, etc. The next time you want to buy a new product, why not go in half with a friend and separate the product. You both get half of the product and only paid for half of the price. You save money and still look pretty.

^ Cut back on the amount of shampoo, toothpaste, etc you use. The manufacturers want us to use more, so we buy more.

^ Make the most out of beauty and dental schools. The students need the practice and you can save money.

^ Don't Chase Trends. Try to develop you own style.

^ Take clothes (good quality, clean) you no longer wear to a consignment shop to sell and make extra money.

^ If you use credit cards, don't charge more than you can pay off in a month unless it's an emergency (car repair, home repair, etc.).

A Natural Whitening Toothpaste

As you know I love trying something new or different.
I wanted to try Nature's Gate Organic Raspberry Mint Whitening Toothpaste with fluoride ($6.99, natures-gate.com) because it's natural and organic plus I've always used a toothpaste from the three national brands. Why not try something new?
The texture doesn't feel gritty but smooth like regular toothpaste. The flavor of raspberry mint is very refreshing and different.
I recommend this toothpaste to those bored with the national brand and want to try something different.

Reader's Frugal Glam Product: Face Mask

I haven't received a reader's product review in quite a while. Feel free to e-mail me yours.

Cherry2Berry36 uses Mudd Facial Masque ($5.00, drugstores) once a month in the winter and twice a month during the summer.
She says "it's the best because I have used other masks but Mudd is the best." Cherry also uses it on other body parts to keep all of her skin pimple free.
Is there a Frugal Glam Product that you would to share please send me an e-mail: frugalglam@yahoo.com with the product name, price (or average price) and what you think of the product.

Sephora Nail Polish

Over the weekend I decided to clean out my nail polish collection and realized that I was out of one of my favorite colors.
It's # 02 of the Sephora nail polish ($4.00, Sephora). It's a pretty pinkish/red color. So while out I decided to go buy a new bottle and I also picked up another color #55 (turquoise or light blue, which will look great for summer).

Fashionable and Comfortable Wedge Sandals

I must stay out of Target, over the weekend I went there to just to buy a pair of sweat pants (I found a great pair on clearance). I also bought these Merona wedge sandals for $22.99.
What I love is the cushioned sole, which is very comfortable. These remind me of shoes that Marcia and Jan would of wore on the Brady Bunch.
Sophisticated and Retro.

Hydrating Lipstick

Right now I am interested in different shimmer products. I don't like the products that look as though they are full of glitter. I like it to be subtle.

Ulta's hydrating shimmer lipstick ($8.00, ulta.com or Ulta stores) is a product I wanted to try. I purchased the lipstick in apricote shimmer and thought the color was very pretty.
I applied it in the morning and by lunch my lips were not dry but surprising moisturized. I normally don't buy lipstick, I'm a lip gloss addict, but I really like this one.
According to the description: ULTA's exclusive hydrating lipcolors contain lanolin oil to condition and soften your lips with every use. The shimmer formula adds glistening pearl highlights to your lips.

My bag of the moment.....

The bag of the moment for me is this Wellsely bag from Alloy.com for $24.50.

It's so cute and different. I can carry all the neccessary things I need. It's a great little bag. I don't like to carry the same purse that everyone else is carrying.
